Bicycle ride on the Marmotte's route
2 days MARMOTTE cycle race - 4th and 5th of july

Event open to all riders being over 18 years of age on the day.
Wearing a helmet is compulsory and riders must respect the traffic rules.

Registration fees : 40 €+ 10 € deposit (15 days before the event)
Registration on the day of departure : 48 € + 10 € deposit

Transport of the luggage + bicycle : 10 €

Collecting of your race number

At Pinsello cycle shop St Martin le Vinoux (38) from 10am to 12am and 2pm to 8pm. Wednesday 2nd of july.

Thursday 3rd july comincing a 2pm closes 8pm, Alpe d'Huez.

Day of departure Friday 4th july from Bourg d'Oisans (38) from 7.30am to 9.30am.

Arrival : Alpe d'Huez (38)

Distance : 174 km, 5000 m of gradient

Duration : 2 days and 1 night lay over

Program for 2 days

Day 1 - Friday the 4th of july 08

Departure control at "L'Office du Tourisme" at Bourg d'Oisans between 7.30am and 10am.
Free departure between 8am and 10am.

Route : Bourg d’Oisans – Valloire : 98 km, 2500m gradient,

Ride in total autonomy of the participants,
Water point (stop) and food are provided at pass Glandon between 9.30am to 2.30 at St Jean de Maurienne. Also a water point (stop) at St Jean de Maurienne.

Arrival in Valloire and control at big-top, on the Cinema Square, between 2pm and 7pm.

- Free accomodation,
- Recovery of luggage,
- A welcome drink will be offered at Valloire's Office de tourisme ,
Friday 4th from 7pm under the big-top, on Cinema Square at Valloire.

Day 2- Saturday the 5th of july 08

Departure control at the big-top, on Cinema Square between 7.30am to 10am
Free departure between 8am to 10am

Route : Valloire – Alpe d’Huez : 76km, 2500 meters gradient
Ride in limitate autonomy and depending of the departure time, the participants benefit (or not) of the infrastructure of the Marmotte and the half Marmotte, help, food provided, Safety, broomcar and also a mecanical assistance at Valloire and l’Alpes d’Huez.

Food provided : at pass Galibier (11am), Bourgd’Oisans (12am), Alpe d’Huez ( Pasta party)

Information for deposit and collecting of luggage

Friday 4th july :

Before the day of departure, luggage is deposit, on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th at Collect starting number desk, they will be convey at Valloire.
Pick up your luggage Friday 4th july, under the” Marmotte big-top “ at Valloire starting from 2pm.

Saturday 5th july :

Before departure (day 2 ) the participants can depost luggage at Valloire. The desk "pick up your race number" at Valloire. They will be convey at l’Alpes d’Huez for 2pm.

A welcome drink will be offerd by of office du tourisme at Valloire on Friday 4th Starting from 7pm under the big-top, on Cinema Square
Pay attention, no shuttle-bus is provided on the day of the race.

The participants must arrange their own return
Recovering cars at l’Alpe d’Huez or Bourg d’Oisans.
